2008 Alaska On Port Tour Info

May, 2008
I did some online research for on port excursions.  Hopefully you found these information useful.

Ketchikan:

The cheapest cruise tour I could find online to Misty Fjords National Monument by boat. Best of Alaska also offered other alternatives such as floatplane rides.

Juneau:

We used it for helicopter and sled dog tour. It’s the cheapest among all other tours agencies. The tour service was friendly and informative but the tour inquiry via email was a bit slow.

Originally I made a reservation with them for their friendliness and speedy service, although I later cancelled and switched to Might Great Trips for a cheaper price, I recommend Era Helicopters for their great communication and responsiveness!

Their website mentioned helicopter tour only, but when we took the tour organized by Mighty Great Trips, it was actually the Coastal Helicopters pilots flying us. So maybe if you contact Coastal Helicopters directly, it would be even cheaper.

Skagway

Basically once you walked pass the White Yukon railroad while getting into downtown, you’ll see tour agents along the main roads. The prices they offered were about the same as Juneau, maybe $10 higher on each tour, but it offered more wild animal observation tours.
